BUNKER, MO (KFVS) - A worker was injured in a mining accident Tuesday afternoon at Fletcher Mine run by Doe Run near Bunker.
A small fall of ground injured an underground mine employee, according to Bob Roscoe with the Southeast Missouri Mining and Milling Division (SEMO).
Roscoe says other employees immediately began administering first-aid. The Reynolds County ambulance responded and the worker was air-lifted to a St. Louis hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Roscoe says safety is very important to the Doe Run company and that he wishes the worker a speedy recovery. An internal safety investigation is being conducted.
