Oil changes made easy? This morning on The Breakfast Show

Posted: Updated:

Good Morning
Today is Wednesday, October 14

This morning on The Breakfast Show we have some sad news out of Graves County - that's where a person has been killed in a fire. By the time fire crews arrived at the home in Melber, the blaze had already engulfed the structure.

This morning we're also looking ahead to the start of the fall veto session for Illinois lawmakers. College scholarships (MAP grants) and stronger ethics laws top the agenda.

And this morning we also have more information about an expanded recall of Ford vehicles. In all there are some 4.5 million more vehicles being added to the list. The problem surrounds a faulty switch that may cause a fire under your hood. I have a Ford Explorer and previously had this fixed - for free - but I also received another letter from Ford this past week asking me to make sure it had been done.

And speaking of mechanical things - Lauren's getting dirty in the garage this morning changing oil ... really! Today she's testing the Liquivac oil changer system. She'll be finding out if this suction mechanism does a better job than a mechanic. See the whole test this morning around 6:15 and then whenever you want on the Does it Work Wednesday home page.

Hopefully the overnight rain that woke me up didn't wake you up! And hopefully Brian can come up with a better (sunny) forecast this morning. Feel free to encourage him by leaving a comment below if you're reading this on-line or by leaving a comment on our Facebook page.

I hope you have a great Wednesday - and remember - it's almost Friday!
