CARBONDALE, Il (KFVS) - School leaders at Southern Illinois University Carbondale are stepping up overseas recruiting efforts.
Several faculty and administration members just returned from trips to China, Taiwan, and India.
Chancellor Samuel Goldman said they met with representatives from several universities. Goldman says they established strong partnerships that will help aid in student recruitment.
"If we relax and if we don't bother being aggressive going to them, organizing these kinds of relationships we won't see them. The reason we won't is because there are other universities who are interested," Goldman said.
Chancellor Goldman expects between 150 and 200 students from China, Taiwan, and India to enroll at the university next fall.
