Winter Storm 2010: Snowfall Forecast

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -- Snow will be moving in to southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky, northwest Tennessee, and northeast Arkansas late Thursday night.  Snow will be heavy at times, especially Friday afternoon and Friday evening.

Heaviest amounts will fall over the southern third of the KFVS viewing area.  There will be a sharp drop off in snowfall amounts on the north side of the storm.  One location could see 4" of snow and 30 miles north could see nothing.

Here are a few point forecasts:

  • Cape Girardeau, Missouri: 5"-8"
  • Carbondale, Illinois: 2"-4"
  • Doniphan, Missouri: 7"-11"
  • Harrisburg, Illinois: 2"-3"
  • Kennett, Missouri: 8"-13"
  • Mt. Vernon, Illinois: 0.5"-3"
  • Murray, Kentucky: 6"-9"
  • Paducah, Kentucky: 5"-8"
  • Perryville, Missouri: 3"-5"
  • Sikeston, Missouri: 5"-8"
