BENTON, MO (KFVS) - Police arrested three Sikeston area people on methamphetamine related charges.
Shawn J. Huff, 35, and James B. Owens, 33, of Sikeston were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, and possession of methamphetamine precursors with the intent to manufacture. Their bonds were set at $100,000.
Owens is also being held for a probation violation.
Rocquelle R. Fisher, 17, of Sikeston is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, and possession of methamphetamine precursors with the intent to manufacture. Bond has been set at $25,000.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says investigators learned of the home in Sikeston where illegal drug activity may be occurring during an undercover investigation.
Walter says when officers arrived at the home Wednesday night, they smelled an odor commonly associated with the manufacturing process of meth. Officers entered the home after they went to investigate and it appeared the suspects were inside attempting to destroy evidence.
Walter says after Huff, Fisher and Owens were taken into custody, a search was conducted and officers found chemicals, precursors and other articles used in the manufacturing of meth.
He says a substance believed to be meth was located inside the house.
