WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) - West Frankfort police arrest two men on burglary charges for allegedly breaking in and trashing a local market.
According to West Frankfort Police Chief Jeff Tharp, the owners of the East Main Market discovered the two glass entry doors to the store were shattered early Wednesday morning. Someone had apparently entered the business overnight and did a large amount of damage inside. The business owners reported several items missing from the market as well including: alcohol, food, office equipment and novelty items.
Evidence collected at the scene lead investigators to the home at 200 N. Madison St. in West Frankfort. Inside the residence, police located 20-year-old Adam Lee Ogden of Royalton and 18-year-old James "Jim" Dollahan of West Frankfort. The men were placed under arrest and charged with burglary.
A search of the home uncovered several items stolen from the East Main Market. All of the stolen items were returned to the store with the exception of some consumable goods which the men reportedly consumed between the alleged burglary early Wednesday morning and their arrest later that day.
According to Chief Tharp, the Ogden and Dollahan made several trips to the market to allegedly steal more items, and now face burglary charges for each entry made to the business.
Both Ogden and Dollahan were transported to the Franklin County Jail and are held on those charges.
