Warming trend continues...
Another nice, mostly clear morning underway. Air temperatures were in the mid 50s to near 60....about 10° warmer than yesterday morning at this time. Dew points were still pretty low, ranging from the upper 40s to the low 50s.
A low pressure area moving through the plains and upper Midwest today will tighten the pressure gradient a bit, resulting in stronger southerly winds. This will help blow in some warmer air, but humidity levels will be climbing only slowly as the nearest high dew point air is well to the south. The NWS has issued a fire wx watch for much of the area for today.
Increasing chance of rain...
As we go through the next several days, more and more moisture will be arriving from the southwest...and weak frontal boundaries will be waving back and forth from north to south. This will likely result in at least a slight chance of precipitation over the next several days...beginning as early as later tomorrow for our southern counties.
Also- a tropical depression in the western Gulf of Mexico could soon become T.S. Hermine...and is expected to drift northwest into far southern Texas. Some of the moisture from this system (but not the low itself) may eventually stream northeast toward our region....and could help keep the chance of showers going about Wed. thru Fri. or so.... The best chance of rain may end up as Thursday.
Even added a chance of showers/storms into the weekend...as a weak front may be lingering in the area.
Back to summer...
Medium-range stuff is indicating seasonably warm and humid weather from this upcoming weekend into early next week...with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the 60s....not a heat wave pattern, but not as fall-like as this weekend has been.
