YourTurn - 5/25/09

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Julie Durbin from Jackson, Missouri:
"(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on the death of Specialist Nicholas Booker) I will never forget the day my husband called to tell me our family friend of nine years had passed son cried endlessly the night we told him....Nicholas changed our lives for the better and we are so grateful for the short time he was here.  Nic, we all miss you and love you very much."

Leslie Moore from Matthews, Missouri:
"If Missouri Governor Jay Nixon lifts the helmet law for motorcycle riders he should lift the seat belt law.  If motorcycle riders are allowed to have a preference so should automobile riders.  If one chooses not to implement safety devices they are only placing themselves in harm's way."

Linda Gurley from Herrin, Illinois:
"In response to the cigarette tax, I don't smoke anymore but enough is enough...state politicians are supposed to represent us and live like the average citizen from their state.  Politicians should make the average wage of the state.  That would help fix the budget deficit and would also bring them back to our (income) level."

Jeff Montgomery from Sikeston, Missouri:
"There is a law that states anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor domestic assault, no matter what the charge or circumstance, is no longer allowed to buy, sell, or possess a firearm.  I believe that law is unconstitutional and should be (reviewed)."
