Windshield Wonder: Does it Work?

Windshield Wonder is basically a plastic stick with a pivoting head feautring microfiber cloths to help you wipe down your windshield and reach into the tiniest of crevices between the dash and the windshield. Sure looks handy. Jeanette Patterson agrees. She's one of many viewers emailing me about this new product. I'd like to use it myself, if it works, but I also really want to know: does this truly clean with just tap water, too?  That's one of the claims, at least.

Only one way to find out. Jeanette fills the included bottle with tap water then sprays it onto the cloth. She starts wiping away at her SUV's windshield.

"I think it's going to look good," she predicts.

I notice she can even reach all the way across both the driver's side and passenger seat to clean the windshield, thanks to the long arm on this device.

"I like it," she says.

I like that it actually did live up to its claim. We only used tap water. To see if it's truly clean though, we decide to wipe down the outside of the windshield.

Keep in mind, Windshield Wonder makes no mention of cleaning outside windows. It does work outside, but you'll probably want some sort of solution other than tap water so you can take off bugs and other markings. So, Windshield Wonder is looking pretty wonderful at this point.

"Does it make you think why in the world did it take so long to come up with something like this?" I ask Jeanette.

"Oh yeah!" she agrees.

She's also a big fan of the two microfiber cloths, but especially the way the Windshield Wonder's head pivots, allowing her to really clean deep between the windshield and dash board.

"I really like it. If you've ever had to clean a windshield and be a contortionist to get to it, you will enjoy this," says Jeanette.

Better buckle up for this. Because of the excellent results and the affordable $10 price tag, I'm going to give this product a grade I hardly ever assign.

"I think it's worth an 'A' or 'A plus,"

I do, too. The Windshield Wonder wipes away a squeaky clean, perfectly polished A plus on this Does it Work test.

I bought the Windshield Wonder at Wal-Mart in Cape Girardeau. You can also find it at many Walgreens locations.
