CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A local primary care office on wheels has a new tool to help women with their monthly self breast exams.

The Southeast Health On Wheels or S.H.O.W. Mobile, sponsored by Southeast Missouri Hospital, travels to different different Heartland towns to provide primary care.

It now has a MammaCare System which teaches women and providers techniques in breast exams.

It's designed to help provide a more throrough exam and detect lumps when they are smaller.

"This largest lump which is about the size of a golf ball is what most women discover on accident when they're checking their own breast," said BJ Whiffen, nurse practitioner, as she points to a display.  "After this system they can actually feel something as small as a grain of rice because their fingers will be so trained."

The S.H.O.W. Mobile travels is in Oran from 9:30 to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Charleston from 9:30 to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, and Bertrand from 9:30 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays.
