CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Investigators are still searching for the suspect in a Tuesday evening stabbing.

Cpl. Adam Gleuck, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Dept., said an arrest warrant has been issued for Calvin Ayers, 49, of Cape Girardeau.  According to Gleuck, the victim identified Ayers as his cousin.

Gleuck said Ayers is wanted on charges of second-degree felony assault and felony unlawful use of a weapon.  A $10,000 bond was set.

The incident ocurred at a home on 611 North Lorimer around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.  When paramedics and other emergency personnel arrived, they found the victim suffering from stab wounds to the lower back, but the suspect had fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Cape Girardeau Police Sgt. Jason Selzer.
