Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Heartland viewer Scott Faughn, publisher of the SEMO Times:
"I never quite understood the concept of Mike Smythe's ViewPoint. I thought it was a way to curry favor with special interests or his personal rant that didn't carry much meaning. However, after the ViewPoint on traffic (speed) cameras I think I get it…the totalitarian politicians who promote the (cameras) should be more honest and just raise taxes instead of these fundraising schemes. The fact that we, as a society, permit this is an indictment on all of us and kudos to (Smythe) for speaking out."
Dave Pinkley from St. Genevieve, Missouri:
"Mark McGwire was wrong taking steroids. Even if it did make him stronger you still have to see the ball before you hit it…he still deserves to get credit for hitting home runs. Babe Ruth was drunk a lot of the time… (McGwire) is not a serial killer; he is a man who did wrong…like Pete Rose, give him credit for what he did on the baseball field…"
Don Melton from Piedmont, Missouri:
"My mother, who is in her 80's, tried to get DISH TV. She was turned down because she had no credit. She is from the old school that says if you do not have the money to pay for it you do not buy it. Has this country gone crazy or is it me? Why are people turned down just because they owe no one?"
