Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Bruce Campbell from Puxico, Missouri:
(In response to Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on the Westfield Sportsmen's Club child shooting incident) The firearm accident should have been avoided. I usually agree with (Smythe) but I get the impression he thinks firearm accidents are the normal, not the exception. Statistics show that firearm accidents continue to fall as gun ownership rises. I do know the NRA and other organizations sponsor many firearm safety classes…stupid people are everywhere, in politics, automobiles, and even television."
Drew Moore from Paducah, Kentucky:
"Obviously, Mr. Smythe has the right (his) voice in our free country. The First Amendment affirms his right…what concerns me more than the NRA is the television networks cultivation of anti-gun sentiment on the news channels then turning right around and glorifying violence with guns on network programming. This is the height of hypocrisy. At least the NRA is straightforward with its purpose."
Donna Tilley from Bloomfield, Missouri:
"I am a home health nurse and every time the news reports adversely on a drug, (most recently) Zocor, half of the clients I have on that particular medication either hides it from me or throws it out. Can you please add to these reports that the medication should not be abruptly stopped without consulting the ordering physician first?"
