Attorney for chief deputy accused of sex assault wants bond reduced

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The attorney for the Saline County chief deputy accused of sexual assault wants his bond reduced.

Todd Fort is in the Jackson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Court documents show his attorney asked bond be dropped to $40,000.

What investigators found inside Fort's home has been sealed.

According to court records, Illinois State Police investigators looked for evidence of criminal sexual assault.  Items included a computer and computer items, bed linens, bath towels, underwear along with any pictures of the alleged victim.

However, Judge Morris ordered what investigators found in their search to be sealed at the request of the Saline County assistant state's attorney.

A hearing about how DNA samples will be taken from Fort is set for Thursday afternoon.
