Reward offered in shooting death of Mt. Vernon teen

MT. VERNON, IL (KFVS) - Jefferson County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of a Mt. Vernon teenager.

Mt. Vernon police found the body of Deon Feggins, 15, lying in the roadway near the 1800 block of Conger Ave. last Sunday evening.  Coroner Eddie Marks pronounced Feggins dead from gunshot wounds at 10:33 p.m.  

Feggins had been shot just after 10 p.m., investigators said.  Feggins' mother said he had just left her home a few minutes before he was shot to death.

The reward ends on Sept. 17.
