JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Former Saline County Chief Deputy Todd Fort has bonded out of jail.

According to officials at the Jackson County Jail, Ford made bond Friday night.

Fort was being held in Jackson County on several charges of sexual assault and official misconduct out of Saline County.

Prosecutors say the charges stem from incidents between Fort and a 17-year-old girl who worked at the Saline County Sheriff's department.

Fort also serves as President of the Harrisburg school board. The board has asked him to resign. So far, Fort has not done that.
