JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - A Jackson native organized a race that will benefit breast cancer research.

Cathy Seabaugh, was born and raised in Jackson. She now lives in Chicago and has started the "Give a Sister Hope" foundation.

The non-for-profit charity raises money for breast cancer research.

Seabaugh started the organization in honor of her sister, Sheila Hager, who still lives in Jackson. Hager won her battle against the disease.

Now folks will have a chance to participate in an 8K run in honor of all of those who've been through that fight.

The pink moon run will be held October 30, 2010. The nighttime run starts at the Jackson park. The courthouse will even be illuminated in pink that night! The run is designed for runner and walkers of all ages.

Head to the "Give a Sister Hope" web site to learn more about the charity or to sign up for the 8K run/walk.
