Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Susan McQuarters from Advance, Missouri:
"(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on banning smoking in public places) I am a pack a day smoker…I choose 20 times a day to light up and inhale poison into my lungs. This does not give me the right to damage anyone's health. A person should be able go out to eat and not have smokers endanger their health…choices, especially harmful ones should never override the right to be healthy or breathe fresh air."
Hillary Sheridan from Mount Vernon, Illinois:
"In response to the ban on smoking in public places, I was watching YourTurn and was caught off guard by a comment from someone who suggested that non-smokers should also have to give up something to create a balance (with smokers). I found this to be a ridiculous suggestion. Research has proven that smoking, as well as secondhand smoke inhalation, is detrimental to your health, to the point that people no longer argue about it….the healthy decision of a non-smoker to remain as such should be respected by those who choose to blacken their lungs with tobacco. Smokers should not be allowed to subject (others) to a substance proven to be detrimental to health by smoking in public."
Gabriel Gonzalez from Jackson, Missouri:
"I am sick of the negative ads from every politician. There was a time when politicians ran on their record and asked us to judge them worthy to serve in political office. Now they bury their opponents while trying to hide their own secrets…is there an honest person left out there?"
