POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Head football coach Shane Kearbey has been put on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into an alleged incident involving Kearbey and a Poplar Bluff student.

Poplar Bluff R-1 superintendent Chris Hon wouldn't say anything else about the incident, but said it reportedly happened Tuesday at the high school.

Assistant coach Dave Siebers will take over as head coach for the football team for the remainder of the season, Hon said.

Kearbey had no comment when reached by phone Wednesday.

Kearbey is also a P.E. teacher and assistant track coach at Poplar Bluff High School.   He's been at Poplar Bluff since 1998 and took over as head football coach three years ago.
