Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Charlotte Gilmore from Bertrand, Missouri:
"Big business, lobbyists, and Congress have sliced and diced our diminishing incomes to the point of poverty. We are required to have auto insurance, forced to have drug insurance (Medicare Part D), and now Congress wants mandatory health insurance…the ones not hit by the recession are the insurance companies and the wealthy who probably own (them). Soon we will be working just to pay for insurance that will not cover all of our needs anyway. No insurance pays 100%...the President has given money to everyone except Social Security…something isn't right."
Mary Lee Pavloff from Zeigler, Illinois:
"Social security checks have not increased in two years yet when I shop prices are increasing…seniors are forgotten by the United States Congress."
Dr. Jay Sheets from Cape Girardeau:
"This is the first time I have disagreed with Mike Smythe's ViewPoint (regarding 18-20 years olds carrying concealed handguns). If an 18 year old isn't mature enough to make firearms decisions why we are sending them into combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention Vietnam, World War II, Korea, and World War I. The New York Times has always had a liberal anti-gun bias. Please don't underestimate our young people, our Founding Fathers, or our Supreme Court. Let them carry. It will make the bad guys think twice."
