HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) - The former Saline County chief deputy and school board president accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage intern appeared before a Saline County judge for a pre-trial hearing Friday morning.

Todd Fort is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl who worked at his office.

Fort faces 10 counts of sexual assault and official misconduct.

His attorney says he plans to hire a couple expert witness to analyze DNA and computer evidence.

The prosecution also plans to hire an expert witness.

The judge gave them until March 18 to have all the evidence filed with the court.

Fort's final pre-trial on April 8 at 9 a.m.  His jury trial is scheduled for May 4.

Fort retired from the sheriff's department in August.

He filed a letter of resignation as president of the Harrisburg School Board in November.
