YourTurn - 1/21/11

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Dan Qualls from Murphysboro, Illinois:
"According to Social Security, the Department of Labor has made the determination that there has been no inflation in the past two years…I think people should contact (this department) to see how many cost of living increases have been made within the department in the past two years."

Heartland viewer Phyllis Wells:
"It was bad enough being a Social Security recipient to not receive a cost of living increase for the past two years, now the new insult is that the cost of Medicare being deducted from our checks each month increased another $20. Is this not considered a cost of living? Not to mention that food prices are schedules to increase boldly in (2011)…the money in Social Security was not contributed to by the government, one half came from the workers and the other half from the employers and should have been in trust."

Heartland viewer Mary Gibson:
"I agree with Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on the Happy Meal. Parenting is about guiding, directing, and loving your children (and saying) ‘No' when it is necessary. Keep up the good work, Mike!
