Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Amanda Long from Dexter, Missouri:
"(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on poor high school test scores) if we are going to hold teachers responsible then when are we going to start holding parents responsible? I know that parents cannot make their kids have drive but they can help by placing importance on education…I love teaching. It is the best profession on the planet… (however) a teacher can only do so much…students ARE our future. The sooner everyone realizes that the sooner we can watch our students excel."
Ladonna Vandeven from Marble Hill, Missouri:
"Why is it illegal for persons under the age of 18 to purchase tobacco and OK for a pregnant woman to smoke? Addiction is addiction no matter what your age and the mother of that unborn child is forcing that baby to be born addicted to nicotine. Kind of sounds like child abuse, don't you think?"
Jonathan Kerr from Tamms, Illinois:
"…for years I have been stuck with dial-up internet. When I saw that the government was starting to get broadband internet in rural areas all I could say was ‘it's about time.'
