BLODGETT, MO  (KFVS)--The commercial says, "Your pants are hemmed for heels, but you wanna wear flats. How do you fix that?"

Apparently, with Style Snaps! The reusable snaps instantly hem your pants which is something Tina Withrow's interested in. I'm short, but her five-foot frame makes me look tall.

"It's tough to find pants that fit," she said.

Not anymore if this works. The product makers state: "Place them wherever you want your hem and then snap. No sewing, ironing, and no gluing."

We try, but immediately, we're not impressed with the simple adhesive backing.

"If they stick, that'd be a good thing."

And it's not! Soon after Tina modeled her hemmed pants, the Style Snap fell off, letting down the pant cuffs with it.

"It's falling out already!"

On one pair of pants though, the Style Snaps stayed in place, allowing Tina to wear boots or flats. Still, she's not sure this is the look she's going for, among other worries.

"I'm disappointed to a certain extent. I don't think they're going to last. Probably one washing and they'd fall apart."

That's exactly what happened. Tina followed the directions and the Style Snaps still ended up all over her washing machine. Then, we read the fine print, which says Style Snaps are only re-usable up to ten times!

"That'd be a bit of a waste."

We think Style Snaps are a short-term fix only, no pun intended!

"I'd buy and put in my sewing kit in case of an emergency."

Overall, these are slacking...

"I'd give it a grade 'D' at best."

The sewing machine or seamstress still required in the long run, but in the short-term, Style Snaps let us down with a 'D' on this Does it Work test.  We bought this set at Wal-mart in Cape Girardeau.
