YourTurn - 4/15/11

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Mike Wilburn from Dexter, Missouri:
"Why can't television today (be) like what I (watched) as a kid. For instance, ‘The Waltons' was a (program) that everyone could relate to…if we had more shows like that we would be a better world…we need to get back to where an honest day's work (is) a good thing and family values are still values."

Tony Cosentino from DuQuoin, Illinois:
"I would like to know why we don't consider taxing the churches in America…the charity work done by churches, which is considerable, would be tax deductible but the remainder of the income should be taxed…I wonder if I am alone in this opinion?"

Ron Morris from Wappapello, Missouri:
"I totally disagree with Mike Smythe's ViewPoint that allowing college professors and students to carry concealed weapons is a bad idea. Not all college students are binge drinkers and partiers. Students and professors would have to be trained before being allowed to carry a concealed weapon…if just one student or professor would have been armed when that nutball went off killing 32 (people) in Virginia, it would have been a different outcome…"
