Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
James Woolard from Cape Girardeau:
"(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint that guns on campus are a bad idea) the leading cause of deaths of 16 to 25 year olds is auto accidents by far. A car will not kill anyone. People driving the car and people handling guns kill people. If (Smythe) truly is interested in human welfare he will preach to ban cars for 16 to 25 years olds… (Smythe) should use reason, logic, be equitable, and full of thought when he mans the bully pulpit microphone."
Southeast Missouri resident Tim Thornton:
"(Mike Smythe) and a lot of people are missing the real point…the concealed carry is not so much to deter but to have the ability to defend yourself of others if a school shooting occurs. I agree that students maybe should not carry (guns) on campus…the age should be increased to 25 to 30 but I do believe professors should be able to carry and it may require more training than the standard requirements."
Travis Leimer from Jackson, Missouri:
"The day after the voters (voted against the Cape Girardeau smoking ban) Governor Nixon was on the news saying that sooner or later they would take care of the problem and make all of Missouri smoke free. What happened to democracy? The people speak and all they do is over rule us."
