    Police are still searching for a possibly armed suspect, 26-year-old Jeffrey Wegener in Oregon and Ripley counties in Missouri, along with Randolph county in Arkansas. 
    Police are still searching for a possibly armed suspect, 26-year-old Jeffrey Wegener in Oregon and Ripley counties in Missouri, along with Randolph county in Arkansas. Wegener stole an Oregon County Sheriff Department deputy's truck Sunday night and drove it into the Eleven Point River.

Jeff Cunningham comes to Heartland News from the Sooner State and anchors Heartland News at 5, 6, and 10 and Heartland News at 9 on Fox 23 KBSI.

Jeff has been recognized by the Associated Press and the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters with awards for spot news coverage and feature story writing.  In 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, Jeff was named Best TV Anchorperson by the Illinois Broadcasters Association.  He received an regional Emmy nomination and national award from the Muscular Dystrophy Association for a series of stories concerning his daughter, Melaina.  Jeff and his wife continue to work to raise funds to build an all-accessible park in Cape County in her memory.

Jeff is married to Andrea, a speech pathologist.  Their daughter Holland Rose was born in September of 2009.  Their ‘other' kids are Heidi, a Boxer, and Ping, a Lhasa Apso.  Jeff is an avid golfer and is trying to work his way around to all the local golf courses in the Heartland.
