ALEXANDER COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Two Illinois lawmakers visited Olive Branch Saturday to explain the process for obtaining aid for flood victims.

State Rep. Brandon Phelps and State Sen. Gary Forby visited the Horseshoe Lake Community Center.

"The importance of these local meetings are an integral part of the communication which is needed between the State of Illinois and our local county residents," said the Alexander County Board Chairman Mike Caldwell.

In showing their support for the area, State Rep. Phelps presented the Community Center a donation to help off-set the costs of feeding the residents of the flood-stricken-area.
