Who wouldn't want smoother-looking skin for this summer's shorts and bathing suits? Now, there's a body shaper designed to help get rid of those dimply derrieres. Wacoal's iPants are imbedded with capsules that apparently "provide the best selection of ingredients, caffeine, retinol and ceramides" to smooth out cellulite.

Mona Hirst, who owns a spa, agreed to test it. She wants to smooth out her trouble spots.

She wore the pants for 28 days, 8 hours a day, just like the manufacturer suggests.

"The first day I put it on, I felt this heat. This energy was happening. It's almost like my lower half was drinking coffee."

She kind of liked it, but not another minor side-effect.

"It created a little bit of acne."

Dr. Lydia Parker of the Parker Aesthetic Clinic, who helped monitor Mona's progress, says Mona developed a condition called foliculitis.

"That can happen when you're wearing tighter clothing and it irritates the hair follicles."

Mona says she'll deal, if it gives good results. She found it did.

"My behind wasn't so dimply. It started smoothing out a little bit and my legs, too."

And the doc says, "I have to say I do see significant changes. I admit I was very skeptical and was not expecting to see much of a skin change."

Mona also lost almost 1/4 inch off her thighs which was one of the claims by the manufacturers.

"It's worth the investment for the reaction I got out of it."

So, it seems Wacoal's iPant will give you a leg up this bathing suit season. While we weren't dazzled by the results from the $60 product, it still earns a 'B' on this Does it Work test.

As with most anti- cellulite products, it's not permanent. Read the fine print and you'll see the cream inside the pants only lasts up to 100 washes. That could get expensive. You decide...

You can find Wacoal's iPants online at www.macy's.com.  Also, they're sold in Dillards' stores in Marion and Paducah.
