YourTurn - 5/20/11

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Bob Brotherton from Fredericktown, Missouri:
"(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on prison costs) I work in one. Prisoners mostly have the Life of Riley…they play games…get free housing, medical, meals, and cable all paid for by you and me…Missouri is an offender friendly state…because prison is so easy and all the rights (inmates) have makes prison life a place to return and continue to be a non-productive person per their choice…correctional officers pay remains on the lowest scale. Missouri was dead last on the pay scale for officers, while the upper (administration) was one of the highest in the nation. As long as (Missouri) continues to follow the current policies on re-education of prisoners and their rights, we as hard working taxpaying citizens, will continue to be pulled down the river on prison costs…I probably will get fired for telling it like it is."

Darcy Braun from Benton, Missouri:
"I would like to see more of ‘Made in the Heartland' on KFVS12. I want to help keep my neighbors employed and the local economy strong by items that are made in the Heartland."

Linda Percy from Piedmont, Missouri:
"(Regarding the KFVS12 news story on tipping) I hope that people know that the word tip means to ensure proper service. If you are not receiving proper service then you should not give a tip…it should be earned, not just given."
