JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Two and a half weeks after 39-year-old Jacque Waller disappeared, there is still no sign of the missing mother of three.

Waller disappeared June 1st, and investigators say the case is far from cold. However, it's been quite some time since new information has surfaced. One reason being backlogs at crime labs.

Investigators have sent off evidence, subpoenaed phone records, and now it's a waiting game.

Many crime labs are overwhelmed with other cases. Meanwhile, Jackson Police Chief James Humphreys says officers continue to interview witnesses, and at this point into the investigation they're even back tracking.

Police were back out on I-55 Thursday re-combing the area of the interstate near Fruitland where Jacque Waller's vehicle was abandoned.

Chief Humphreys says it is now very personal to the officers dedicated to the case.

"It's very concerning to us, so we have to stay on it each day until we find her," said Humphreys.

Police continue to stress to the public, if anyone knows anything about Jacque Waller's disappearance to please contact the Jackson Police Department at (573) 243-3151.
