SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Sikeston DPS arrested two people after a meth lab explosion early Sunday morning.

Mark Allen Hinklin, 37, of Jackson is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

John Derek  Deloach, 23, of Sikeston is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.

Sikeston DPS received several calls of an explosion at the Midtowner Motel at 833 E. Malone around 1 a.m. on June 26.

Officers found Hinklin sitting outside room 115 disoriented.

Hinklin told police he threw a cigarette in a trash can and it exploded.  A witness told police he/she heard the explosion and saw Hinklin run from the room with a cloud of smoke surrounding him toward a neighboring convenience story with a trash bag.

Meth lab materials and the discarded remains in a trash can at the nearby convenience store were collected.

Hinklin was taken to the Scott County Jail with a $25,000 cash only bond.

Deloach was taken to the Scott County Jail with a $2,000 cash only bond.
