Clay Waller sentencing continued until January

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Clay Waller will not head back to court before the end of the year, as a federal judge agrees to continue his sentencing on internet threat charges.

Waller, who's considered a suspect in the disappearance of his estranged wife, Jacque, had been set to learn his sentence at a hearing next week.

Instead, Judge Stephen Limbaugh granted the government's request to move that hearing until January 3.

Waller pleaded guilty to threatening his sister-in-law on the website Topix.

Assistant US Attorney Larry Ferrell tells Heartland News that he asked for the additional two weeks because he's contesting the sentencing guideline of six to 12 months laid out in Waller's pre-sentence report.

Ferrell says to help make that argument, he will include information about the disappearance of Waller's estranged wife, Jacque.
