On Friday, the McCracken County Sheriffs Department took reports from two separate thefts in the Reidland area.
The first report was taken from 425 Bryant Ford Road around 5 a.m. The victim told deputies that several items had been taken from their vehicle that was parked in the driveway of their residence sometime during the late evening or early morning hours.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched to 1305 Old Rosebower Church Road to investigate a burglary that had also occurred in the early morning hours.
The ongoing investigation throughout the day Friday led detectives to a house located on Marsha Drive in the Reidland area.
Investigators allege that Jeremiah Brown was in the home with several items of stolen property. A search of the property at approximately around 1:30 p.m. revealed Brown and stolen property from Old Rosebower Church Road. Brown admitted to breaking into the home and gave details describing how he got in and what all was taken.
Police say items stolen included an electric guitar, several camera's, lap top computer, multiple hand tools, and a .22 caliber rifle. The rifle was not located at the Marsha Drive location, however detectives determined that the rifle had been hidden at another location in the Reidland area.
Around 1:30 p.m.. detectives searched an apartment on Benton Road. Residents Julio Dunivin and April Greenup both denied a rifle being present at their apartment, however police say a search revealed the stolen .22 caliber rifle hidden in one of the ceiling tiles in the master bedroom.
Detectives say they also recovered a safe that contained some additional stolen items that had been taken from Old Rosebower Church Road in the ceiling tiles along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Later Dunivin admitted that he agreed to hide the gun for Brown inside the apartment while knowing it was stolen. Greenup was also charged for wanton endangerment due to a small child being present in the home while marijuana was within easy reach of the child.
Police say Social Services were contacted about the findings in this case.
All three were taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail. Brown was out on bond for theft related charges at the time of his arrest.
