SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Innovia boasts its automatic paper towel dispenser cuts down on cross-contamination and germs, while shooting out the right amount of paper towels with just the swipe of a hand.  Mildred Willoughby could definitely use a product like this, IF it works.

"We are constantly outside working on cars, trucks and construction. You come in the house with dirty hands, then you pull out more paper towels than you need and you get the cleans ones dirty with your hands!" she said.

In hardly any time at all, the drills the holes needed to fit the dispenser under her kitchen cabinet. She adds the included posts to drop it down a bit so the sensor is not blocked by the cabinet.

Make sure you install this next to an electrical outlet because it is powered by electricity rather than batteries. She tosses in a full roll of pretty thick paper towels, and is sure to expose part of the towel to get it started, like the directions say.

Once the green light flashes, she waves her hand in front of the machine and out pops a paper towel!

"That is so cool. I gotta have that."

Meantime, what's even more cool? You have three seconds to rip off the towel. If you don't, the machine automatically retracts the towel back inside, thus cutting down on airborne germs getting onto the towel.  Plus, if you want more than one towel, just hold your hand steady in front of the sensor.  Multiple towels will come out---five is the maximum.

Mildred is ready to install this gadget in all her bathrooms now, too, until she learns the price:  $99.

"Whoa! That's too much for a paper towel holder. If they'd cut it down in half, I'd pay that. I really, really like it. It's a nice, sturdy plastic that looks like stainless steel.  I really like it. I just can't spend $100 on a paper towel holder though!"

Fair enough, based on the price, the letter grade suggested by Mildred, AND the fact that we can't seem to find this product in stores or online anywhere else but from the manufacturer, we'll wipe our hands clean of this test and give the Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser a good grade B minus on this Does it Work test.
