SEMO defeats SIUE to claim 2nd place in the OVC

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Southeast Missouri State basketball team defeated SIU Edwardsville Thursday night 85-68 at the Show Me Center to improve to 4-1 in the OVC.

With the win SEMO grabbed sole possession of 2nd place in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Marland Smith led the way with 20 points.

Sikeston's Michael Porter scored a career high 14 points in the win.
