Eggstractor: TAKE 2 By: Amy Jacquin
Okay... You remember this from last week... "Don't shell-out ten bucks for this thing... Eggstracter earns eggsactly an F."
And you remember anchor Jeff Cunningham trying the Eggstractor after Amy's story, and he got it to work!
"
Okay, I admit I didn't think to press it QUICKLY!" Amy Jacquin admits. "I followed directions, or so I thought, that say press down firmly. They don't say anything about QUICKLY and firmly. And I didn't think of trying it until I saw Jeff do it. So I am going to give Eggstractor another try."
The first time nothing happens. The second push makes a "pop" sound, but the egg doesn't drop. The third time Amy presses to hard and fast the entire thing topples over the the table!
"I said, I'm going to give the Eggstractor another try! Ha ha!... Hey, there we go! Look here!"
Finally, she got the Eggstractor to peel an egg.
"
This isn't exactly a perfectly peeled egg. It did leave quite a bit behind, and ripped up the egg a bit. But let's try it again, now that I got the hang of it."
Four more times Amy peels an egg with the eggstrator... Two eggs pretty much explode into pieces, the other two stay intact but have pieces of shell around the top end.
Not exactly pretty, but the Eggstractor DOES work, at least partially. Amy believes it takes more effort than peeling an egg, but YOU can judge its convenience. She amends it's grade, and generously give this $16 product a C.
