KENNETT, MO (KAIT) – The man accused of several Kennett arsons has been ordered to undergo a mental exam.
According to the Dunklin County Prosecutor's Office, 37-year-old Daniel Bugbee had his arson case postponed until the results of a mental exam are known.
Bugbee's arson trial was moved to New Madrid County and not date has been set for a new court date.
According to the Kennett Police Department, Bugbee has confessed to committing approximately 13 of the 16 arson cases in the city of Kennett.
Bugbee is charged with 13 counts of felony second degree arson stemming from a series of house fires between December 2011 and July 2012.
Police said several leads developed during the investigation, and Lieutenant Detective Tim Trowbridge was able to find a witness to a case where two adjacent homes were burned days apart from each other.
Trowbridge said that witness was able to identify Bugbee in a photo lineup.
Trowbridge added that the investigation is still ongoing and asks that anyone with information regarding the fire contact the Kennett Police Department at (573) 888-4622.
