SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -
A couple of crashes on Interstate 55 near the 83 mile marker stopped traffic for a bit Monday afternoon.
Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say a woman driving a car told them a tractor trailer swerved into her lane. As she tried to avoid the truck, she smashed into the guardrail.
A car behind her also hit the guardrail as it tried to avoid her.
The southbound lanes were shutdown for a short time while crews cleaned up the crash.
Three people went to the hospital with minor injuries.
