The Missouri Highway Patrol says Monday afternoon's storms caused a wreck involving three vehicles on Interstate 55.
The highway patrol says cars were stopped on the highway because of the rain and a van hit a tractor trailer. Another semi hit the van, sandwiching it between the two.
According to officers there were two kids and a man in the van. They were not hurt, but the man was taken to the hospital with a possible broken arm. Two people in the last semi were not hurt and one person in the first semi was also not hurt.
Highway patrol says southbound traffic was down to one lane at mm 56, but is now open.
