CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -
Isle of Capri announces what jobs the company will soon fill for the new site opening in Cape Girardeau. The company along with the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce and Cape Girardeau Area MAGNET will hold informational meetings for potential applicants on June 26 and 28 at the Show Me Center on Sprigg Street.
"Now that construction of Isle Casino Cape Girardeau has moved into the interior of the building, our focus has turned toward hiring qualified applicants to serve our guests," said General Manager Chet Koch. "We have partnered with the Chamber of Commerce and MAGNET to hold public information sessions regarding the types of positions available, the job requirements and the licensing process. We hope that anyone interested in job opportunities will stop by."
Three sessions will be held both on June 26th and June 28th, from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., noon – 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Job applications will not be accepted at the information sessions. Applications will be accepted electronically as specific job openings become available by accessing the Company's web site at www.islecasinojobs.com.
The company offers these sites with computers to those without access: The Missouri Career Center (1737 N. Kingshighway), Cape Girardeau Public Library (711 N. Clark Ave.) and after June 29 at Isle's office in the Marquette Tower.
"Our goal is to make the application process as simple as possible for applicants, as well as our staff. Electronic applications are the easiest and most efficient way to process as many applications as possible," Koch added. "We have completed hiring our executive team and we are well on our way toward staffing our operations by gradually posting positions over the next few months. We strongly advise those interested to check our web site on a weekly basis at a minimum. We expect to begin dealer's school beginning with Craps dealers in early August and Blackjack/Poker dealers in early September."
John Mehner, president, Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce said, "At the Chamber we are so proud to see that over 450 jobs are being added to our market, putting people to work and bringing a new entertainment option to town."
The company says the $135 million gaming facility is designed to feature 1,000 slot machines, 28 table games, several restaurants, and a 750-seat multi-purpose room. It will be the 16th casino owned and operated by the Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. across the United States and is expected to open by Thanksgiving 2012.
