Heartland News cameras where there as police arrested a suspect allegedly involved in an afternoon standoff in Metropolis...
This all started when Massac County Sheriff Ted Holder, got a call about someone being beaten inside a home in the 1800 block of McCrary street.
Metropolis officers said they went to the scene and discovered the victim's fiancee and young son were being held against their will inside.
Several agencies set up a perimeter around the home.
The woman and child were not hurt.
Two people were taken into custody.
Prosecutors charged, Lawrence Richardson ,28, of Chicago with aggravated battery, intimidation, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Prosecutors also charged Abrienna Mix ,20, of Carbondale with possession of drugs.
