Cape Girardeau pilot injured after plane crash in Stoddard County

PAINTON, MO (KFVS) -

Paramedics rushed a man to the hospital after a plane crash in Stoddard County Thursday night.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Paul Williams, 80, of Cape Girardeau was flying a small experimental ultra light plane went down in a corn field near the town Painton.

Troopers believe the plane may have clipped the tops of the corn stalks and that caused it to crash.

We're told the man is in stable condition with minor injuries.  He was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

The plane went down near the intersection of Airport Road and Highway O in Stoddard County.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.
