CHICAGO (AP) - An F-15 fighter jet has intercepted a small single-engine aircraft that violated restricted airspace over the Chicago area.
The warplane was under the direction of the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
It escorted the aircraft out of the restricted zone without incident late Saturday morning.
NORAD could not comment on the reason for the temporary flight restriction. But it was in effect while President Barack Obama was visiting his home in Chicago with his family. Such restrictions are routinely put in place around events involving the president.
