MEMPHIS, TN (KFVS) -
The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has received an agency protest by letter.
The letter protests the award of the Multiple Award Task Order Contract for repairs to the Birds Point-New Madrid floodway frontline levee reconstruction.
The letter was dated June 12, 2012.
As a result of the protest, construction work to restore the levee must stop until the Corps of Engineers reviews the protest and renders a decision.
A news release from the Corps did not specify the source of the letter of protest.
The Corps will review the letter as expeditiously as possible so as to minimize the delay in restoring the floodway frontline levee to its authorized level.
