TRIGG COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime lane and load width restriction on the US 68/KY 80 Lake Barkley Bridge in Trigg County starting Monday, June 25.
This daytime lane and load width restriction at US 68 mile point 8.284 is to allow a detailed inspection of the bridge structure, according to KYTC.
Drivers can expect to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers between approximately 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., each day. Due to the use of a snooper truck to assist with the inspection, this work zone will include a strictly enforced 8 foot maximum load width.
Drivers should use caution in this work zone where equipment, flaggers, and inspection personnel will be on the bridge deck in close proximity to traffic flow.
This inspection work is expected to take about one week to complete.
All Kentucky bridges get a detailed inspection every two years, with long-span bridges that cross lakes and rivers getting additional inspections on an annual basis.
