It happened around 12:20 a.m. on MO Route K, 12 miles east of Ellington, Missouri.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a pickup truck driven by Monty E. Marin, 39, of Lincoln, Arkansas ran off the road, hit several trees, overturned and came to a rest on its side down a steep embankment.

Marin and a passenger, Rodney D. Fears, 35, of Ellington both had serious injuries and were flown to a St. Louis area hospital.
