MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) -
Three people were injured in a two-car crash Friday afternoon in Graves County, Kentucky.
According to the sheriff's office, it happened around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Hopewell and West Plains Road near Mayfield.
Deputies say Brenda Howle of Paducah was driving southbound on Hopewell Road and Dakota
Stanfill of Lynnville was driving eastbound on West Plains Road.
Based on witness accounts and evidence, deputies say Stanfill did not stop for the
posted stop sign on West Plains Road at the intersection of Hopewell Road. His vehicle then collided with the front passenger side of Howle's vehicle.
Howle's vehicle was pushed into the yard of
Pleasant Grove Methodist Church damaging one of the church signs.
Deputies say Stanfill was not wearing his seat belt and was
thrown out the driver's side window of his vehicle and landed in the middle of Hopewell Road.
Stanfill
was taken to Western Baptist Hospital by Mayfield-Graves County EMS.
Howle and her passenger, Kenneth Howle,
were both transported to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The road was closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
Deputies are is continuing to investigate this collision.
The Viola, North Graves and Clear Springs Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
