POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

Police arrested a Poplar Bluff man after another man was stabbed in the neck with a box cutter.

William Fanter, 33, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on a charge of first degree assault after police say he stabbed another man in the neck with a box cutter.

The Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to the 700 block of Cynthia Street around 11:50 p.m. on June 22. They found Timothy Hartwick, 45, with a serious stab wound in his neck. Hartwick was transported to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center emergency room.

Witnesses reported that Fanter attacked Hartwick with the box cutter after an argument about a peace disturbance complaint.
