CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The verdict is in for a western Kentucky school bus driver accused of manslaughter.

The jury found Anita Roach not guilty of manslaughter and guilty of reckless homicide, according to the Carlisle County courthouse.

The sentence date for Roach was set for July 19.

Anita Roach drove the bus that left the road and rolled over, killing a six-year old Logan Simpson back in May of 2011.

Twenty other children and adults were injured in the crash.

The defense says roach followed her training and steered toward a deer running along the road, rather than swerve away from it.

Prosecutors say narcotics in Roach's system impaired her and she should not have been driving.
